Pictures 3 and 4 are after 3 rounds of scrubbing the barrel with 0000 Steel Wool and WD40

Picture 5 shows the barrel wrapped in vinegar soaked shop towels.
3 applications of shop towel soaked with vinegar for 2 hours each.
Then sanding with 0000 Steel and more vinegar.
The 4th application of shop towel soaked with vinegar was left to soak over night.
Picture 6 shows the results AFTER 4 applications of shop towels soaked with vinegar and prior to sanding with 0000 Steel Wool and WD40
Pictures 7 and 8 show the barrel, what it looks like AFTER sanding with 0000 Steel Wool and WD40.
